The jack-of-all trades, Bert, introduces us to England in 1910 and the troubled Banks family. Young Jane and Michael have sent many a nanny packing before Mary Poppins arrives on their doorstep. Using a combination of magic and common sense, she must teach the family members how to value each other again. Mary Poppins takes the children on many magical and memorable adventures, but Jane and Michael aren’t the only ones upon whom she has a profound effect. Even grown-ups can learn a lesson or two from the nanny who advises that “Anything can happen if you let it.”

  • Casting, Eligibility, and Dance Ability

Auditions will be open to second grade and up. ALL cast members in the show will tap dance, although prior tap experience is NOT required. Actors may want to take a beginner tap class at CAST or another dance studio if interested in more featured dance opportunities in the show.

All actors who audition will be cast in the show. The audition is an opportunity for actors to practice professional stage skills required of all actors in casting. An actor’s audition will influence the role they are cast in in the show.

Actors should prepare a 1-min or 32-bar memorized CLASSICAL MUSICAL THEATRE song in their strongest range and should prepare a 30 second CLASSICAL monologue or script read. A British accent requested if possible. Actors should come prepared with karaoke or instrumental accompaniment tracks that they can play on their phone or bluetooth speaker.

  • Rehearsals

Rehearsals will run August-October 2021. Rehearsals will take place Monday nights from 6–8:30 PM (note the time change) and some Thursdays and Saturdays for select cast members.

  • Performances

Performances are scheduled for November 5th-7th, 2021 at Hermitage Hills Baptist Church.
